Threads
Co-Costume Designer and Wardrobe
Threads was a film centered around the stories that our clothes tell. Following a girl about to leave for college, it recounts the many lives a family shirt has lived.
Threads posed a challenge, crossing many distinct eras of style with a $20 budget. Actors costumes needed to meet historical accuracy from their modern day closet. To meet this challenge, I collaborated closely with actors, sending mood boards for them to reference and having them send me multiple items of clothing to style with.
The one ‘build’ for the show was the main character, an early 50’s style shirt featuring hand embroidery central to the story. The shirts themselves were thrifted, with customization added on.
